
(Even If You’ve Never Done Reiki Before)

Most people think energy healing is something mysterious.
Something only certain people can feel.
But the truth is much simpler.
Energy is something we experience every day — we just don’t always recognise it.
Have you ever walked into a room and immediately sensed the mood?
Or felt calm around certain people and drained around others?
That’s energy awareness.
And the hands are one of the easiest places to begin feeling energy.
Below are three simple exercises you can try.
You don’t need any special training — just curiosity and a few quiet minutes.
This is one of the easiest ways to feel energy between your hands.
Start by rubbing your palms together gently for about 10 seconds.
Then slowly separate your hands so they are about 10–15 cm apart.
Relax your shoulders and breathe normally.
Now slowly move your hands slightly closer together and then further apart.
Many people begin to notice:
• warmth
• tingling
• gentle pressure
• a magnetic feeling between the hands
It may feel as though you are holding a soft ball of energy.
You’re not imagining it.
You are simply beginning to notice the energy that is already there.
Sit comfortably and relax your breathing.
Place one hand a few centimetres above your other arm or leg without touching it.
Slowly move your hand up and down the length of your arm.
Notice if you feel:
• warmth
• coolness
• subtle changes in sensation
• a gentle pulsing
Many Reiki practitioners learn to feel these subtle shifts in energy.
It’s simply a matter of learning to pay attention.
Energy responds strongly to intention.
Place both hands gently over your heart.
Take a slow breath.
Think of someone or something you love — a person, a pet, a place in nature.
Notice how your hands begin to feel warmer.
Many people feel:
• warmth
• softness
• expansion in the chest
This is your energy responding to emotion and awareness.
You don’t need to force anything.
Energy awareness grows naturally through curiosity and practice.
The more you begin to notice energy in everyday moments, the clearer these sensations become.
This is also how many people first discover their interest in Reiki.
Many people who begin noticing energy in their hands become curious about Reiki.
