🎤 100 People, 100 Opinions

Imagine this: you’re standing on stage, speaking to a room of 100 people.
You share your truth — maybe nervously, maybe boldly — but you speak from the heart.

After your talk, all 100 people leave with their own opinion about you:

  • One person thinks you’re brave.

  • Another thinks you talked too fast.

  • Someone silently admires your confidence.

  • Another person feels triggered by what you said.

  • Yet another is reminded of someone they once loved.

And here’s the beautiful, freeing part:
None of these opinions truly belong to you.
They belong to them — shaped by their stories, their beliefs, and their past experiences.

👓 People Judge Through Their Own Lens

When someone judges, praises, misunderstands, or feels triggered by you — it’s rarely about you.
It’s filtered through the unique lens of who they are and what they’ve lived.

Here’s what that lens can include:

🩹 Past wounds

Imagine someone was deeply betrayed by a close friend in the past.
When you speak confidently about trusting people or opening your heart, they might judge you as “naïve” or “fake positive.”
It isn’t really about you — it’s their old wound speaking, still trying to protect them from hurt.

👶 Childhood conditioning

If someone grew up in a home where children were told to “be quiet, don’t show off,” they might judge your self-expression as “attention-seeking.”
They learned, very young, that being visible wasn’t safe — so when you shine, it feels wrong to them.

🌏 Cultural background

In some cultures, humility and collective thinking are highly valued; in others, being bold and individualistic is praised.
If your style reflects something different than what someone grew up with, they may see you as “too much” or “too quiet,” simply because it doesn’t match what they know.

😟 Insecurities

A person who secretly doubts their own worth might see your success as threatening.
They might judge you as “full of yourself,” when in truth, they’re seeing the gap between your confidence and their self-doubt.

🧠 Deeply held beliefs

If someone believes “money is bad” or “spiritual people shouldn’t charge,” they may judge a healer who runs a business.
Their reaction isn’t about that healer’s integrity — it’s about a belief that feels deeply true for them, often unconsciously.

✨ Why this matters:

When we realise people see through these layers — past pain, upbringing, culture, insecurities, and beliefs —
we stop taking their opinions so personally.

We remember:

“What others think of you is none of your business.”

They’re not really seeing you; they’re seeing their lens of you.
And that frees us to keep showing up in our own truth.

So when someone judges, praises, criticises or misunderstands you, what you’re really seeing is a reflection of their own inner world.

It’s not a report card about your worth.
It’s a mirror of where they are on their journey.

🌱 Free Yourself by Letting Go

When we truly see this, it’s like releasing a heavy backpack we didn’t even know we were carrying.

We stop performing for approval.
We stop shrinking for fear of rejection.
And we start living, speaking and sharing from the heart — because we remember:

  • We can’t control what anyone else thinks.

  • But we can control how we show up, the energy we bring, and the truth we share.

When you free yourself from needing everyone to understand or approve of you, you become lighter. You become more you.

Remember: It’s Their Story, Not Yours

“What others think of you is none of your business.”

You don’t have to carry their opinions.
You don’t have to change or shrink to fit their lens.

Your only business is to stay groundedin your truth, speak with love, and keep showing up — authentically and unapologetically.

Because what truly matters isn’t what they see — it’s what you see in yourself.
