Chakras and Food
If you feel a bit 'out of sorts' in a particular area of your life, refer back to the "symptoms" information in Part 3 and then experiment with the food guide below to help bring that chakra back into balance again.
Experiment with foods, your colour techniques and ultimately, your thought because it is your thought that is the main player of all of your energies in your life experience.
Feeding Your Root Chakra - Grounding
Root vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, parsnips, radishes, beetroot, onions, garlic, etc. Think along the lines of red coloured foods because remember your colour information. Mince and red meats, red beans, soy products, cayenne pepper, horseradish etc
Feeding Your Sacral Chakra - Nurturing Creativity and Sexuality
Melons, mangos, passion fruit, oranges, almonds, walnuts, cinnamon, sesame seeds. Incorporate wearing the colour orange around your sacral chakra area or using those orange sheets as described in your colour email. Play with this idea and have fun with it :)
Feeding Your Solar Plexus Chakra - Allowing Self Love and Empowering Self Esteem
Pasta, breads, cereal, rices, flax seed, grains, sunflower seeds, ginger, turmeric, cumin, fennel. Think yellow :)
Feeding Your Heart Chakra - Encouraging Unconditional Love of All That Is Around Us
As a mother, I remember seeing my children do what ever it took to keep away from green foods. Keep in mind that green t-shirts are also available for people that are not a fan of green foods.
I personally love green leafy salads, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, celery, basil, sage, thyme, parsley and you could also have a go at green tea if you like.
Feeding Your Throat Chakra - Speaking Your Own Truth
Water, blueberries, bilberries, blue potatoes, blue corn. Do your own internet search for blue foods and see what you can come up with :) Water has to be my number one because it helps to flush out any acidity within the body and it "flows" just like energy does :)
Feeding Your Third Eye Chakra - Nourishing Your Inner Guidance
Reddish purple grapes, black berries, raspberries, red wines, grape juice, lavender. Also quietening the mind with meditation and peaceful moments alone can help greatly for the third eye. Tap back in to your natural knowing.
Feeding Your Crown Chakra - Your Connection To Higher Self
Fresh air. If you live in a busy city area, take a trip to the mountains or the beach and breathe deeply. If you are too far from the mountains or beaches, look for a local park or nature reserve with a lot of trees in it. Your body will thank you for it and so will your mind. Bring clarity back into your life with a breath of fresh air - literally! You deserve it.
In all honesty, just taking time for yourself as you sit on the earth surrounded by trees can bring benefits greater than you might possibly imagine. I encourage you to have a go at this at least once a week - once every day would be better of course but hey, baby steps. It's all good. Any time you can do this will be of great benefit to you and your life in general. After all, when is the last time you literally stopped to smell the roses?
